Albanian President Ilir Meta received on Saturday a group of tourists from Israel accompanied by the Ambassador of Israel to Albania, Boaz Rodkin and former ambassador David Cohen.
The main purpose of this meeting was to promote the Albanian tradition and culture and President Meta informed the tourists with the great opportunities that Albania offers.
“Albania is a favorite country for Israel to promote investments here and this is extremely positive. Now we have a direct airline between Tel Aviv and Tirana and I believe that it is possible to give a stronger impetus to comprehensive relations across the fields. Israel has a great power in technology and especially for start-ups. In this regard, we need the most advanced Israeli technology to develop as much as possible. Tourism is a great opportunity Albania offers for development, but also to surprise all Israelis who want to see such a friendly country,” says Meta.
The President mentioned the historical contribute that Albania gave as any other country helping the Jews during the Second World War.
“I was very proud to my country when I visited ‘Yad Vashem’. When I saw that Albania has more Jews after the war than before,” said Meta.
