The Speaker of the Parliament, Gramoz Ruci, received on Friday the Chairwoman of the American-Hebrew Committee, Avital Leibovich, who is conducting a trip to Albania and Kosovo, to strengthen the links between the American-Hebraic Committee and the Albanians.
Ruci praised the work of the American-Hebraic Committee, which since 1906, works with lawmakers, governments, civil society and the media to support the causes of the Hebrews and the State of Israel.
“I would like to invite you to cooperate with Albania for promotional activities related to religious tolerance, art, culture, journalism and civil society. Albania offers not only a model of tolerance, understanding and religious coexistence, but also the support and protection of the Hebrews during World War II. We should use the healthy basis of relations between Albanians and Hebrews to encourage tolerance in the region and on the planet,” said Ruci.
Meanwhile, Chairwoman Leibovich thanked Ruci for the high appreciation of bilateral cooperation and expressed the gratitude of the people and Israel for the support that the Albanian people gave to the Hebrews. She promised that the American-Hebraic Committee will further contribute to supporting bilateral political, economic, trade and investment cooperation, strengthening the Albanian Diaspora in the United States and its influence on US government institutions, as well as Albania’s support in international institutions and organizations.
