TIRANA, June 13/ATA/ There has been an increasing demand for Israeli drip irrigation technology as it created the best method of irrigation in agriculture. The goal of the system is to eliminate wasting water. The system consists of valves that control the drops of water and have to be very precisely spaced along the irrigation lines.
However, this technology is still costly for Albanian farmers, but they have been able to provide the necessary funds through National Agriculture Support Scheme.
The team of the Albanian Telegraphic Agency (ATA) visited the farm of Hasan Hasa in Lundër, who after benefiting from the government’s National Agriculture Support Scheme, has started the implementation of the Israeli drip irrigation technology project on his vineyard, enabling him to provide a solution to the irrigation problem and increase grape production a year earlier.
This is the second time that Hasan is benefiting financial assistance under National Agriculture Support Scheme. In 2017 he received government funding through National Agriculture Support Scheme to expand the 4-hectare area planted with vines.
“I applied to the National Agriculture Support Scheme in 2019 and after a month I received a funding of over 2 million and 400 thousand ALL for the implementation of the drip irrigation system used in respect to vineyards,” Hasani said.
The implementation of the drip irrigation technology has assisted Hasan to finally solve the irrigation problem and increase production of grapes up to 20 kv/ha. //a.i/
